ABOUT

With a Masters' degree from Oxford University, William Chipperfield has a general common law practice with a particular focus on criminal law, specifically road traffic and health and safety offences.

William came to the Bar from the broadcasting industry, having worked internationally as a senior executive in the special events division of PanAmSat (now Intelsat). His achievements in this role included being involved in the planning and implementation of the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 Olympics, where he worked closely with the European Broadcasting Union, International Olympics Committee as well as broadcasters and newsgatherers such as the BBC and Associated Press.

In 2005 William began his legal studies, emerging from Lady Margaret Hall (Oxford) some years later, with a Masters dgree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

He exhibits a strong commitment to both criminal and social justice, and as well as his legal practice in the UK, he continues in his role as a Director of Amicus, a charity dedicated to providing legal assistance to prisoners on death row in the United States.

Whilst at Oxford, William served as a fire-fighter with Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service. In addition to his usual duties, he also received driver training, paramedic instruction, and health & safety application and enforcement.
