Farringdon Supports the right to a Jury Trial
Farringdon Chambers were dismayed to read the leaked reports that the government intend to curtail the right to jury trial. Juries are at the very foundation of our Justice System for all serious crimes. To seek to limit trial by one's peers to only the most serious crimes is an attack upon Justice itself. One we cannot and do not support.
The years of underfunding and lack of investment by consecutive governments have caused the current problems. Even now the Courts are not being allowed to sit to full capacity. Substantial investment is required not fundamental change.
We will do all we can to protect the right to a jury trial and support the CBA and Circuits.
