Neil Matthews persuades the Crown to offer no evidence in county line drugs case

Neil Matthews persuaded Crown to offer no evidence in County lines drug dealing case. Not Guilty verdict entered. 

Mr Matthews’ client, a Youth, was facing trial on indictment for drug dealing. Mr Matthews was able to ascertain that the client had been exploited. He deployed a Section 45 Modern Slavery Act 2015 defence, persuaded the prosecution make a National Referral Mechanism referral, and ultimately to offer no evidence. Not Guilty verdict entered.
