Verity Fowler-Rouault successfully appeals against sentence before Baker LJ, Mr Justice Picken and Mr Justice Sweeting

Verity Fowler-Rouault successfully argued that the 31 month imprisonment her client received was excessive. She submitted the sentencing judge had wrongly identified him as performing an operation function despite his role as a ‘runner’, having an awareness of the scale of the operation and no reduction for extensive personal mitigation. Mr Justice Picken praised Ms Fowler-Rouault for her able submissions, allowed the appeal and reduced the sentence to 27 months imprisonment.
